Momijiya Matcha Gokabo 15 pieces (Roasted Soya Flour Sweets)
Details
Gokabo is a famous confectionery from Kumagaya, Saitama, with a delightfully chewy texture — and this is our matcha version. Everything from the puffed-rice core to the coating is made in-house, and every piece is still finished by hand using time-honoured methods. We use genuine Nishio Matcha from Aichi Prefecture for an elegant, subtly bitter finish; the nutty aroma of roasted soya flour and the refined bitterness of matcha create a lingering aftertaste, in a naturally vibrant fresh-green colour made without artificial colourings. The ingredients are remarkably simple: just soya beans (for the flour), rice, starch syrup and sugar — completely gluten-free with no wheat flour, and plant-based with no animal products. Individually wrapped, it's easy to share and makes a lovely gift. Wonderful with green tea, coffee or black tea.
About Nishio Matcha: Produced in and around Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture, Nishio Matcha is one of Japan's leading brands, accounting for over 20% of the nation's total matcha production. Characterised by its elegant aroma, deep green colour and a smooth, rich umami, it is crafted using traditional shelf-style shading and stone-mill grinding.
Storage: Keep away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity, and store at room temperature. In summer keep it somewhere cool; in winter avoid overly cold places. It may soften at high temperatures and harden at low temperatures.
If it hardens: Warm in the microwave for about 5 seconds to restore its soft texture.
