Nongshim's Ansung Tangmyun has been one of Korea's most comforting everyday noodles since its launch in 1983 — named after Anseong, a city in Gyeonggi Province historically famous for its bustling cattle market and rich culinary heritage. The broth draws on beef bone and soybean paste for a deep, savoury warmth that feels genuinely nourishing, with a touch of chilli powder and dried seaweed adding just enough complexity to keep every bowl interesting. The noodles are thin, smooth, and satisfyingly chewy — a slightly different character to the thicker ramen varieties, and all the better for it. A wonderfully versatile bowl that works beautifully with a soft-boiled egg, spring onion, and whatever's in the fridge.
