Hokkaido Emimaru Japanese Rice 5kg
Emimaru is a Hokkaido rice variety developed at the Kamikawa Agricultural Experiment Station, bred to thrive under Hokkaido's cool northern climate and pure snowmelt water. Its name carries a quiet optimism — combining "maru," shared with its predecessor variety Hoshimaru, with the idea that both farmers and those who eat the rice will smile. In taste, it holds its own alongside Nanatsuboshi, one of Hokkaido's most celebrated varieties: mildly sweet, softly textured, with a gentle stickiness that never overwhelms. What sets it apart is its behaviour when cooled — the grains stay soft and hold together well, making it an ideal rice for onigiri, bento, and any dish where the rice sits for a while before eating. Carefully selected and directly imported by the WASO team, including Executive Chef Hideki Hiwatashi. The accessible price reflects WASO's direct sourcing — not a compromise in quality. A rice you can reach for every day with confidence.
This product is vacuum-sealed, however the seal may occasionally release during transit due to handling. This does not affect the quality or safety of the rice in any way.
