Ozeki's Wagaya no Yuzu Sour Base is a yuzu-flavoured spirit concentrate for making Japanese-style chuhai (shochu highball) at home. At 25% ABV, the base is designed to be diluted to taste — typically one part base to three or four parts sparkling water, which produces a light, refreshing citrus highball at around 5–7% ABV. The ZERO formulation contains no sugars and no purines, which makes it a lighter option for those who enjoy the character of a yuzu sour without either. The flavour combines the distinctive fragrant acidity of yuzu with the clean base of brewing alcohol and rice shochu, rounded with a small amount of indigestible dextrin. It also works well with still water or tonic for a softer drink, or added in smaller quantities to cocktails for a citrus note. The 900ml bottle makes a generous number of servings and keeps well sealed at room temperature.
