【Best Before:30/09/2026】 Saikaien Gokutama 100g
Details
“Gokutama” is a top-grade sencha that brings out the ultimate flavour of Sonogi tea. Only tender young leaves are carefully harvested, then deep-steamed and roasted with far-infrared heating to maximise sweetness and umami. The rich taste and clear aroma make it perfect for special occasions. A confident creation by Saikaien, balancing depth and mellowness.
Sonogi tea, grown in Higashisonogi, Nagasaki, is rare, making up only around 1% of Japan’s tea production. Blessed with a warm climate and pure water, it has concentrated umami, low astringency, and an elegant flavour. Highly acclaimed in national competitions, it is a treasured tea for connoisseurs.
How to enjoy:
Boil water and cool to about 70°C.
Place 6g of tea leaves (for 2 cups) into a teapot.
Pour in the cooled water and steep for about 1.5 minutes.
Pour evenly down to the last drop.
Experience rich, mellow sweetness and a gentle, lingering aroma – a blissful cup befitting the name “Gokudama.”
