Cook Do Koumi Paste is Ajinomoto's tube-format all-purpose Chinese-style seasoning paste, designed to be squeezed directly from the tube into a hot pan with one hand while the other keeps stirring. The Garlic Soy Sauce variety is built around two forms of garlic — fried garlic powder and roasted garlic oil — alongside a base of pork extract, chicken extract, soy sauce powder, and yeast extract that produces a deeply savoury, umami-rich flavour with a pronounced garlic character that is difficult to replicate by seasoning from scratch at home. One squeeze (approximately 8.5g) is calibrated for a single serving of fried rice, and the same amount seasons a portion of stir-fried meat and vegetables or a bowl of soup. The soft paste dissolves into the pan quickly and coats ingredients evenly. At 120g the tube holds enough for around fourteen servings of fried rice — a practical size to keep alongside the hob for regular weekday cooking.
