【Too Good To Waste】Haenuki Japanese Rice from Yamagata 5kg
*Please read the product description carefully before purchasing.
Led by Kota Kudo, a former Mitsukoshi Isetan buyer, our sourcing team carefully selects and directly imports the premium rice brand Haenuki.
Yamagata Prefecture is one of Japan's top rice-producing regions. Its clearly defined four seasons, large temperature differences between day and night, pure snowmelt water from Mt. Gassan and the Zao mountain range, and fertile soil bring out the rice's natural sweetness and aroma.
Among them, Haenuki stands out for its beautifully uniform grains. When cooked, it becomes glossy, plump, and fluffy. It has just the right amount of stickiness, a firm texture, and a natural sweetness. It stays delicious even after cooling, making it an ideal choice for bento lunches and rice balls.
[About This Product — Too Good To Waste]
This product has been found to produce cloudier water than usual when rinsed. This is due to residual bran and lipids on the surface of the rice becoming more soluble over time after milling, and poses no safety concerns whatsoever.
However, the flavour may be slightly milder compared to our standard product. We recommend rinsing the rice with a few extra changes of water for the best results.
At WASO, quality always comes first — but we also believe that discarding perfectly edible rice is far from ideal. That is why we are offering this product at a special reduced price.
*This is a discounted item. Returns and exchanges are not accepted. Please keep this in mind before purchasing.
