Samyang Ramen holds a remarkable place in Korean food history — launched on 15 September 1963, it was the very first instant ramen ever sold in South Korea, and it remains a deeply beloved everyday staple more than six decades later. The flavour is characteristically Korean: a clear, lightly spicy broth with a savoury, mushroom-forward depth from oak mushroom and soy sauce, balanced with garlic, green and red pepper, and a gentle warmth that builds pleasantly with each sip.
