Details

The Shirataki version of Nishiki’s Ajishimi Organic Konjac range, in a 336g pack. Shirataki — literally “white waterfall” — are thin, translucent konjac noodles with a light, springy texture and virtually no flavour of their own, which makes them one of the most versatile ingredients in Japanese cooking: they absorb the flavour of whatever broth, sauce, or seasoning surrounds them, becoming deeply infused when given enough time to cook slowly. This version uses the same organically grown konjac potato (JAS certified, JP-BIO-007) and the same proprietary ajishimi (flavour-absorption) method as the block variety, which allows the noodles to take on seasoning more readily than standard shirataki. No pre-boiling to remove bitterness is required. Use in sukiyaki, oden, nimono, nabe hot pot, and spicy stir-fries; the noodles can also be rinsed, drained, and served cold in sesame-based dressings. Drain and rinse before use.

Ingredients

Water, konjac potato (13.31%), konjac flour (1.18%), firming agent: calcium hydroxide
