Mee Chun Chu Hou Sauce 450g
A traditional Cantonese braising sauce from Mee Chun, a Hong Kong condiment house established in 1917. Chu Hou sauce is the classic base for slow-braised Cantonese dishes, most famously beef brisket and tendon with radish, but equally at home with pork, lamb, duck or root vegetables. The sauce is built on fermented soybeans with wheat flour, sesame, spring onion and garlic for savoury depth and a rich, mahogany-brown colour. Use straight from the jar as a braising base, or mix with stock for stir-fries, claypot dishes and hotpot dipping. Keep refrigerated after opening.
