Nikujaga – Japanese Beef & Potato Stew 250-280g
Tender beef, potatoes, onions, carrots, and shirataki (konjac noodles), slow-simmered in a gentle broth of dashi, soy sauce, and mirin — a true taste of home-cooked Japanese comfort food. A perfect companion to steamed rice, a traditional set meal with miso soup and pickles, or even a chilled sake.
Frozen nikujaga has long faced a familiar challenge: the delicate textures of potatoes and shirataki are easily compromised by freezing. Conventional freezing allows large ice crystals to form, damaging these textures and causing precious umami to be lost as drip upon thawing. To overcome this, we introduced a newly developed rapid-freezing process that flash-freezes the dish immediately after cooking. By keeping ice crystals as small as possible, we lock in the umami and preserve the fluffy tenderness of the potatoes, the smooth silkiness of the shirataki, and the full, deeply absorbed flavour of every vegetable — delivered straight to your table just as it was made.
Simply heat in a hot water bath for 4–5 minutes and enjoy an authentic, homestyle meal even on your busiest evenings.
