About Iinuma Chestnuts:
Iinuma chestnuts are grown by only eight farmers in Japan using a special method known as one burr, one fruit, where each burr produces just one large chestnut. Their distribution accounts for only 0.2% of chestnuts circulated nationwide. After harvest, they are matured for two weeks to bring out their natural sweetness and aroma. They are exceptionally rare and were the first chestnuts in Japan to receive official GI protection.
