Nigiri Sushi 8 Pieces by Nobu Sakaguchi (15 years at a Michelin starred)

£19.99 £24.99
New Sale Frozen

Details

Each piece is hand-formed by sushi chef Nobu Sakaguchi, who spent fifteen years crafting sushi at a Michelin-starred restaurant.

This selection brings together eight of the most loved toppings: otoro, chutoro and akami bluefin tuna, sea bream, salmon, sweet amaebi prawn, Japanese scallop and yellowtail. The sushi is blast-frozen at -60°C the moment it is made, locking in the texture of the rice and topping along with the taste of freshly made sushi.

No special tools are needed to thaw it. Simply fill the lower half of the twin container with lukewarm water at around 40°C, stack the upper tray holding the sushi on top, and wait about twenty minutes. The container is designed so that the water warms only the rice, so the rice warms gently to body temperature while the topping thaws and stays cool, giving you the contrast of warm rice and cool fish you would enjoy at a sushi counter.

Until now, chef-made sushi has rarely been something you could enjoy at home in Britain. WASO frozen sushi thaws in about twenty minutes, timed to when you want to eat, bringing the taste of a sushi restaurant to your table. It also makes a lovely gift to bring to a home party.

How to thaw:
1. Remove the upper container and fill the lower container with lukewarm water at around 40°C, a little warmer than a bath. Do not use boiling water.
2. Set the upper tray holding the sushi on top of the lower container. It is ready to eat in about twenty minutes. If the rice still feels cold, replace the water with fresh lukewarm water and top up in five-minute intervals, checking as you go.
Thawing time varies with the temperature of your freezer, how long it has been stored, and your room temperature. When the rice has warmed to a soft, body-temperature feel, it is ready to eat.

* Once thawed, eat on the same day.
* Do not refreeze once thawed.
* Tuna may gradually darken in colour through oxidation when kept in a home freezer. This is not a food safety concern, but we recommend eating it as soon as possible after delivery.

*No Soy Sause & Wasabi included.
